Cotent Designer, Open to flexible working

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Content Designer to join our experienced and creative digital team. You’ll be working to communicate the work of The Mayor of London and the London Assembly, ensuring the content on our website - London.gov.uk - and other digital products is engaging, concise and user-centric.

We use data and research to understand the problems Londoners face, inform the way we develop content and validate usability. We’re also creative - thinking about how different formats and useful online tools can best meet user needs and help communicate our messages.

As a Content Designer, you will guide and advise policy teams in how best to present their information online, be it through words, graphics or videos. You’ll also work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners and Developers to ensure new functionality comes with clear wording and a simple journey.

Importantly, you’ll be a team player – working with our multidisciplinary and agile team who are committed to making sure that content is the best it can be and that staff across the organisation are upskilled and empowered.

You’ll work with various policy areas – helping them create great content for their programmes, strategies and updates. And you’ll of course work closely with other teams such as Marketing, Social, Press and Creative in producing high-quality communications.

You’ll also have opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills with access to lots of in-house training and will be encouraged to get involved in external training, conferences and workshops. In fact, we’re always building on our expertise and our networks – learning from and collaborating with the Government Digital Service, Transport for London (TfL) and other London councils.

We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.  Possible flexible working arrangements also include compressed hours and remote working.

London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan, flexible working options, childcare voucher scheme and a career average pension scheme.

If you have a question about the role or the recruitment process then please contact a member of the recruitment team via email on glajobs@london.gov.uk quoting references GLA0235
