Project Nova Coordinator, Part Time - 21 hours per week

RFEA and Walking With the Wounded (WWTW) are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with knowledge of the Armed Forces and Ex-Services charity network, with the ability to understand the challenges more vulnerable veterans have to overcome, particularly those who have entered the Criminal Justice System. This person will work closely with the Community Rehabilitation Company. The position is Part Time (21 hours per week).

Project Nova is a support programme for Veterans identified by the Community Rehabilitation Company it is focussed on intervention, support & diversion away from re-offending and or a potential prison sentence. Project Nova is jointly delivered by RFEA and WWTW

The successful applicant for this role will have a track record of delivering high quality results, with a strong customer focus and can work independently to targets and deadlines. Effective communication, IT and organisational skills are essential along with mentoring and coaching skills.

Experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system, local government agencies and the ability to develop a network of contacts are also required, along with a clean driving licence. NVQ Level 4 in Advice and Guidance and a good understanding of the employment market is desirable but not essential for the right applicant.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Engagement with ex-military veterans and potential partners.
  • Support the Nova Managers and Team Leader to create and maintain strong working relationships with the Community Rehabilitation Company.
  • Engage with veterans following first contact.
  • Register Nova Veteran details on the dedicated CRM.
  • Undertake a needs assessment with each Nova Veteran.
  • Support network referrals
  • Establish a support plan with each Nova Veteran.
  • Manage referrals for Nova Veterans to other organisations in the support network.
  • Communicate to Nova Client Advisors when tracking should start.

Case Management

Work with Nova Veterans to ensure their effective participation in the Criminal Justice System.

Work with Nova Veterans so that they engage with the Nova support network.

When the Nova Veteran is job ready, develop their employability skills and source suitable opportunities for employment.

This role is Part Time (21 hours per week) and offered initially on a one-year fixed term contract, starting salary of £15,600 rising to £16,200 (pro rata applied) after six months plus benefits with job satisfaction guaranteed.
