This is a varied role that will suit someone with previous compliance or counter fraud experience. You’ll review different sources of data and information, such as audit reports, to identify any gaps or anomalies that could indicate fraudulent activity or non-compliance. You’ll review the evidence (or lack of) presented and make recommendations on possible next steps to explore in more detail or escalate. You can expect to liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve audit findings and you will also have the opportunity to contribute to ad-hoc projects as part of our Assurance Hub team.

You should be comfortable working with complex information – drawing on both analytical and numerical skills, and a keen eye for detail will help you to identify issues and patterns that merit further investigation. You could have developed your compliance and counter fraud skills in a range of settings such as other utilities, financial / banking services or other regulated sector. This experience should have included the interpretation of legislation to inform sound decisions or recommendations. It’s important that you have excellent communication skills (in writing and in person) and that you are a well-organised person who is able to prioritise issues and tasks to meet different deadlines.
