Project Officer, part time - 14-21 hours per week

Role

To coordinate and contribute to plans to mark Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) 2020 across the UK – the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz – and ensure that HMD 2020 has the maximum reach and impact possible.

Main duties

• Coordinate planning for HMD 2020 – a landmark anniversary year

• Contribute creatively to these plans

• Ensure the impact and reach continues beyond 2020

Responsibilities

Holocaust Memorial Day 2020

Project planning

• Lead on planning for HMD 2020 – a key anniversary year, 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz

• Provide strategic planning support to members of the HMDT management and staff teams as they look ahead to HMD 2020

• Work closely with key stakeholders including trustees, survivors and activity organisers

• Work closely with other organisations within the sector to maximise the reach and impact of HMD 2020

• Develop literature, reports and resources as required

• Establish and coordinate an HMD 2020 Advisory Group

• Coordinate the involvement of high-profile guests and contributors

Commemorative project

• Develop and co-ordinate a national commemorative project that links local activities and the UK Ceremony

• Explore opportunities and develop a strategy for local activity organisers and the general public to participate in HMD 2020 commemorations

• Explore creative opportunities for the UK Commemorative Ceremony for HMD 2020 and support its delivery

• Work closely with the Communications team to ensure that the commemorative project has a wide media impact

General

• Work as part of the HMDT Communications team to provide support for media work, social media, internal communications, design, brand, public affairs and survivor engagement, as required

• Work as part of the HMDT team to realise HMDT’s charitable aims and the organisational strategic plan

• To undertake other tasks as may reasonably be required
