Valuation Production Manager - open to flexibility

The Investment Valuations function is tasked with over-sighting independent valuation, valuation uncertainty and control for £100bn+ of investment assets from illiquid assets such as special purpose vehicles, loans, property, private equity and OTC derivatives, to more liquid exchange traded derivatives, foreign exchange, bonds, equities and collective investment schemes.

In this role you'll manage trade booking, controls around the end to end operating model for relevant assets, the operation of complex internal valuation models and oversight of third parties for outsourced services.

You'll be adept at developing both short and long term strategies for an efficient trade booking operating model and able to implement that strategy through development to completion. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential as you'll broker networks across a wide range of areas, most notably IS&E, actuarial, finance, operations and risk.

Hands on experience of operating valuation models would be ideal in this role for illiquid assets including loans, special purpose vehicles for both fair value and valuation uncertainty, which includes:
- Loading and controls around current positions and cashflows
- Monthly updates to assumptions and market data
- Production of valuation and valuation uncertainty outputs and validation to ensure correctness
- Reporting client supplied prices to third party administrator for onwards accounting and reporting
- Validation and MI production of analysis of movement and FVPC reporting including commentaries to support drivers

You're likely to have an Investment Banking background with experience of the risk attributes of OTC derivatives and creating a 'P&L Explain' or 'P&L Attribution'.

* Graduate level education, ideally with other relevant financial qualifications (e.g. accountancy, financial markets or actuarial)
* Investment assets specialist knowledge of OTC derivatives and illiquid loans valuations
* 5+ years' experience of valuations and risk management models in Product Control, Independent Price Verification (IPV),Valuation Control Group (VCG) or similar
* Strong documentation skills, with an ability to document technical material in an easily digestible form for consumption by a variety of stakeholders

* Strong knowledge of market data ie. Bloomberg
* Experience of SVPs (special purpose vehicles)
