Accounting Assistant, Part time (Min. 2 Days per week - Home working)


  • Direct report to the Accounting Director as part of a small team
  • Long term home working opportunity with initial on site training
  • At least two days per week at a fixed hourly rate and completion of timesheet required
  • Potential for more hours as the business grows


  • Limited company accounts preparation from clients online accounting records
  • Quarterly VAT Return review work
  • Payroll administration
  • Preparation and submission of Companies House confirmation statements
  • Regular Skype calls with clients to provide support on Kashflow, Xero, Free Agent etc
  • Responding to client queries via email and telephone
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required

Experience required

  • Recent experience of working in an accountancy practice essential
  • Up to date company accounts, VAT and payroll knowledge vital
  • Qualified, part qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • Knowledge of the IRIS Practice Suite would ‎be beneficial but is not mandatory as training can be provided
  • Experience using online accounting systems such as Kashflow, Xero and Free Agent required
  • Good Word and Excel knowledge essential
