Global Senior Risk Manager, Open to flexibility

Diageo operates an integrated risk, control & compliance programme that consists of three core pillars of governance - risk management, internal control and compliance & ethics.  The Global Risk & Compliance team work across the entire business – in all markets and functions – to ensure our programme of activities are leveraging best practice, are deeply embedded, enhance and protect our business, and deliver our regulatory requirements.   

The risk management pillar drives strategic enterprise risk management across Diageo, setting priorities and defining methodologies from our risk appetite and risk landscape, to risk assessment & mitigation approaches.  The role holder will ensure Diageo’s key risks are being effectively managed & assured through the activities we undertake.  

Top Accountabilities 

  • Support Global Risk & Compliance Director in continuing the development of an effective & efficient programme, through delivery of a best practice approach to risk management across the organisation
  • Stay up to date on external developments in governance, risk & control including any regulatory developments or changes which could impact Diageo
  • Lead on the development of risk management methodologies & tools, delivering & evolving risk management across Diageo’s global business
  • Drive attention to our highest risk areas, work with the business to find solutions and report on our key risks to the Diageo Executive and Board   
  • Work effectively across the global risk & compliance team to identify opportunities for integration, and to work on risk issues together identifying  the best solutions leveraging control and compliance approaches

Qualifications and experience required 

  • Experience within risk/control/audit/compliance function of a large international company, or of providing consulting services in the area of governance, risk management, compliance & ethics
  • Graduate with relevant professional qualifications
  • Ability to direct and manage own workload & execute brilliantly delivering outputs on time & quality
  • Proven experience of building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to influence decisions and coach others to improve their risk judgements and capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
