What impact will you make? The Opportunity

You will advise a range of alternative asset managers on their reward and executive investment strategy and approach, including both standalone and captive Private Equity, Infrastructure and Real Estate funds. You will be client-facing and will be encouraged to establish and grow business relationships, as well as contribute to the wider strategic direction and business development of the team.

Role description

Deloitte is looking to recruit individuals into its fast-growing Reward in Funds team, advising a range of UK and global funds on their reward strategies and structures.  We offer an opportunity to work in a stimulating environment, with an exceptional, high-energy team, who founded this successful market offering. We are seeking individuals who are ambitious and driven, with strong knowledge of funds from a reward design and/or tax/structuring perspective, who are keen to work in a leading global consulting practice.

This successful and expanding team is experiencing growth at present.  This means that there is ample room for career development and progression.

As this is a fast-growing area, there are opportunities for high-performing individuals to progress quickly through the firm.

As an experienced hire, you will enjoy a development programme that includes internal technical and soft skills training and on-going mentoring designed to complement specific on-the-job development.

Technical courses are supplemented with skills (non-technical) training to encourage the development of your business and commercial skills.  We offer a great deal of support to widen skills and knowledge via residential courses, local training and online resources.

You will be based in a Deloitte London office, however travel will be required for client based projects. Whilst most clients are London based, some time will be spent off-site with regional and international clients.

This is a permanent role with a degree of flexibility. We do encourage careful consideration of agile ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients.

You will have responsibility for drafting bespoke, technical advice for clients, including working with more junior talent within the team to prepare reports, respond to ad hoc client queries and ensure all aspects of a project are managed effectively. As part of this you will develop strong relationships with your clients, who will call upon your expertise to help them develop effective solutions.

As well as providing exceptional client service, you will have a responsibility to manage and develop more junior talent within the team, and become involved in the development of the practice.

Working in our Reward in Funds team, you will be providing reward-related advice to clients in relation to:

  • The design of reward and executive investment structures, including carried interest, co-investment, annual incentives and other long-term incentives. This includes consideration of the designs from a commercial, tax and regulatory perspective.
  • The governance of reward and decision making, including Committee structures and year-end review processes.
  • Remuneration related disclosures, including approach to employee communication and relevant regulatory disclosures
  • Preparation for transition and succession of firms.

You would also have wider responsibilities relating to the development of our business offering and team, including:

  • Contributing to strategic discussions regarding the future growth areas for the team, including identifying and evaluating potential opportunities.
  • Managing and developing more junior team members.
  • Driving forward chosen business development areas

To be considered, candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Understanding of the alternative asset management industry.
  • Experience of reward structures within funds, either in a consulting, tax or in-house environment.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships, with a professional and pro-active approach, to deliver client service that meet Deloitte's exceptional standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to deal effectively and establish rapport with people at all levels (clients, partners and staff).

You are here: Tax

Our business spans the full range of tax activities and by integrating these specialist areas when forging a team for the client, we can deliver the best advice to that client, wherever in the world they operate. Internally, the tax department is split into three main areas: Business Tax, Indirect Tax and Global Employer Services.

Our consultative approach adds significant value to our clients’ businesses and makes a tangible difference to their profits. As a result, you’ll get to work with a variety of clients, across a wide range of industry sectors, from large multinational companies to entrepreneurs and other high net worth individuals. This variety of work means you’ll gain broad and in-depth knowledge of business. As well as providing coaching in key financial, business, consulting and legal skills, we’ll also give you all the support you need to gain valuable professional qualifications.
