Grenfell Inquiry Coordination Officer, Open to flexible working

The GLA is recruiting a Grenfell Inquiry Coordination Officer to support the Mayor of London and Greater London Authority’s involvement in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. This officer will attend Inquiry Phase 2 hearings, secure the effective submission of the Mayor’s views and feed back to the GLA on emerging issues and learning.

As a Core Participant, the Mayor is committed to ensuring the Inquiry achieves truth and justice for the bereaved, survivors and residents of Grenfell Tower. Supporting contributions to and learning from this process is an important task - the findings will be central to achieving the Mayor’s vision that all Londoners should benefit from a safe, good quality home. The Grenfell Inquiry Coordination Officer will be based in the GLA’s Housing and Land directorate, in the Building Safety team, but with a remit to work across the organisation and the GLA Group .

Technical knowledge of building safety and the public inquiry process are not required. You will be excellent at building relationships with internal and external partners, a strong communicator with a good awareness of the roles of the GLA and the Mayor. Effective stakeholder management and an ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload will be crucial to success in this high-profile and sensitive job.

This role will be based at The Crystal or London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL).
