Pensions Executive - open to flexible working and to consider reduced hours/job shares

  • Making quality second nature.  This means doing what’s right even when no one’s looking. The work that you will do has a major impact on our clients and our firm. We pride ourselves on the high-level standards we have for the work that we do. 

  • Own your own work. You will support the Benefits and Pensions Team Leader to drive quality within the team, with a primary focus on the firms’ pension scheme and reward offering. Working as a team across Reward and P&C (People and Culture) to deliver a consistently excellent experience to our people and stakeholders. Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Main point of contact for key pension stakeholders, ensuring a consistent operational quality.

  • Provide coaching for the team to ensure development and a quality service is achieved. 

  • Take a lead role in pension specific projects, creating supporting documentation, while collaborating with team members and key stakeholders.

  • Reviewing system failures and establishing solutions. To define test scripts and undertaking pension system testing.

  • Update relevant teams with known policy changes and raise any risks with the Team Leader.

  • Complete or monitor all pension administration activities within the agreed service level agreements.

  • Oversee pension payroll work, building a strong rapport with our finance teams and pension providers.

  • Demonstrate strong pension knowledge and is the main point of contact for complex and escalated queries.

  • An advocate for change, demonstrating a proactive approach. Continually looking to improve current and introducing new processes on the team.

  • To challenge, influence and define requirements with different perspectives in mind, to ensure we deliver the required outcome.

  • Works closely with key stakeholders to recommend and implement new ways in which system, processes and polices can be improved to enhance service delivery.

  • To drive forward and take responsibility for the firms current Auto Enrolment and Auto Re-Enrolment processes, ensuring current legislation is adhered to.

  • Manage the offering/costing of TUPE requests covering all pension requirements.

  • Develop a strong relationship with current pension provider, establishing ways we can better connect with our people.

  • Work closely with the Benefit platform provider, to maintain and enhance the pension selection process.

  • Take a lead role in drafting pension communications and updating the firm’s intranet page.

  • Be a part of a team.  You will work with the Benefits and Pension team and the wider business.

  • Take responsibility.  You will ensure client service is at the forefront of everything we do, understanding employee and stakeholder needs, exceeding expectations on delivery within legislation limits. You will take ownership of project and administrative work across the team, provide key updates to the Team Leader on their progress, ensuring the team have all the knowledge available to deliver the service.

  • Build your brand.  This role offers exciting opportunities for the right person to expand their knowledge.  The team has a history of developing internal talent for progression.


The minimum criteria

  • Pension experience of a minimum of two years.

  • Strong knowledge of Defined Contribution (DC) pensions.

  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

  • Strong IT skills including proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • High level of verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong administrative and customer service focus.

  • Demonstrates ability to motivate and develop others.

  • Demonstrates ability to take ownership and responsibility of tasks, while being able to challenge and influence.

  • People orientated, able to build a rapport and trusted relationships.

  • Maths and English Language at GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent.
