Job Description:

We are seeking a Manager to join our Regulatory Advisory practice, part of the Financial Services Group (FSG). This opportunity will develop and grow your career with challenging project work where each assignment is different from the last. We are looking for someone with experience or a keen interest in helping our clients understand and apply UK financial services regulatory requirements, in a pragmatic way that adds value to their business. You will work for clients in multiple sectors, including retail and commercial banking, consumer credit, financial advice and wealth management, insurance, and asset management, as they pursue strategic initiatives and address all manner of regulatory challenges as they arise. You will work on a wide variety of projects, including on business models, governance and controls, risk management, prudential health, risk management, conduct risk, customer experience, Skilled Person reviews and redress and remediation.  

Managers have a dual operational role – delivering excellent client service whilst maintaining effective communication with the rest of the department to ensure the client relationship is developed to its fullest extent.

We expect the candidate to lead a rage of regulatory assignments, under the supervision of a partner or director, in a way that meets and exceeds our clients’ expectations. This will include taking responsibility for budgeting and forecasting, work planning, managing and motivating the delivery team, raising invoices, preparing reports, presenting solutions to clients and growing the business through proactive networking.

Knowledge and experience of UK regulators’ prudential requirements, including reporting, and CASS experience, are desirable.

The minimum criteria

  • 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent)
  • Maths and English Language grade B or above at GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Good A level grades (or equivalent)
  • Prior work experience in an accounting, law or FCA, PRA or PSR regulated firm, or a regulator
  • Experience of client facing or consultancy work in relevant industry sectors
  • At least 5 years' experience of regulation and compliance
  • Proven ability to lead a team and mentor and coach junior members of staff
  • Good interpersonal and networking skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Experience of writing reports for executive level consideration
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and exceed client expectations

Skills to set you apart

  • Understanding and applying PRA and FCA prudential requirements, including reporting
  • Understanding and applying the FCA’s CASS requirements
  • ACII, CFP(FPC) or equivalent
  • Accountancy experience
  • ACA or equivalent
  • FinTech / RegTech knowledge and experience
  • ESG knowledge and experience
