Special Events Manager

Salary – £32,000 - £37,000 per annum  (pro rata for part time) - subject to skills and experience  22.5 hours per week

Base - initially home working then a mix of home/office based at the Pears Building at the Royal Free London in Hampstead.

The Royal Free Charity stands at the threshold of its most important period of development. The pandemic has shown the importance and necessity of the support the Royal Free Charity can and has provided to staff and patients across our three hospitals sites, and the need for our globally important research has also never been so clear. This is an exciting time to join, as we develop a new case for support, and fundraising appeal, which will launch our new organisational brand.

Working as part of a newly formed Philanthropic Partnerships team, the trust manager will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our fundraising strategy.

We are looking for a talented special events manager to deliver a programme of high-quality cultivation and stewardship events for major donor individuals, trusts and corporates. Importantly, the postholder will demonstrate an awareness of the needs of major donors and how to tailor events to this audience. Experience of delivering high level cultivation and stewardship events would be beneficial, but not essential.

Initially focused on delivering a small number of in-person events tailored for our top major donors and prospects, the postholder will also develop the plans and tools we need to embed a programme of events throughout the year. They will work with our Mid Value Giving Officer and the Individual Giving and Community teams to deliver cultivation events to engage future major givers, as well as supporting our established virtual events series: RFC Presents (which can be found on YouTube).

Our Supporter Care Principles are at the core of everything we do, and the postholder will ensure that all our events provide the best possible experience for donors.

This role sits within a high achieving Fundraising team, divided into three departments: Philanthropic Partnerships, Individual Giving, and Community Fundraising. The Special Events Manager will report to the Head of Philanthropic Partnerships.
