The WREF & Corporate Product Director will have responsibility for all IT services relating to the Global Real Estate and Workplace and Amenities business function of Consumer Healthcare. The successful candidate will drive the IT Target Application Landscape strategies aligned to business strategies and prioritise the IT project portfolio.

This role will be accountable for the applications owned within your business unit and manage the application lifecycle. You will collaborate with other peers at an enterprise level to ensure the best portfolio of applications exists for one overriding task - to support the Business Process! Success will be measured by overall simplification of your application portfolio, alignment with the strategic business objectives and reported level of satisfaction from GSK CH employees.

You will embed an automated-by-default and software defined methodology and expect to deliver business value at high frequency, as well as naturally & seamlessly partner with engineering, security and product teams to have the best value possible, delivered by the infrastructure products & services delivered within your scope.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Delivery and operation of a selection of application within your scope, optimised for scalability, resilience, capacity & cost
  • Complete product lifecycle - including testing and optimisation with a data led approach to continual review, refinement and improvement
  • Collaborate with peers to develop, deliver and maintain one enterprise IT strategy and for the Business Process (or sub process)
  • Lead a globally distributed team of specialist domain engineers & partners, from a position of technical authority
  • Design and implement software solutions with a human centred approach - ensuring employee needs are being met by your recommendations
  • Establish and lead Business Governance bodies, move to approval for projects, provide oversight and enable benefits realisation, manage overall service performance and manage business risk
  • Accountable for ensuring all applications supporting the business are in line with internal security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements e.g. GxP, SARBOX and that IT continuity plans are in place for all business-critical applications
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with regulatory, statutory, health and safety and other appropriate company standards, including local and corporate IT policies and procedures
  • Accountable for ensuring the right services levels are in place and maintained in line with business need and the appropriate responses made to Voice of the Process(VOP) and Voice of the Customer(VOC)
  • Accountable for driving ongoing business process improvements adopting lean management techniques
  • Support the automation network and server/workstation infrastructure for automation systems
  • Follow product management practice with customer & consumer value at the heart of robust design & implementation decisions

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for people with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Experience of IT strategy management, solution design and project delivery
  • Experience managing diverse scaled IT teams
  • Experience or knowledge of Building Management systems (ex: Building Automation Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, Human-Machine Interfaces) with a strong understanding of building management principles and practices
  • SQL queries/reporting
  • Oracle/SQL Server database administration
  • Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Technical Degree e.g. Engineering, Information Technology.
  • Deep content knowledge of respective functional area (processes & applications)
  • Experience delivering business impact through process and IT enabled solutions.
  • Experience in successful IT strategy development, solution design, programme & project delivery and service management.
  • Experience of vendor management in particular IT/BPO outsourcing.
  • Experience with managing service desk operations.
  • Strong awareness of service delivery concepts (e.g. ITIL service management).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to describe complex & abstract technical concepts up to board level.
  • Excellent relationship management, strong influencing skills
  • Ability to influence outcomes and gain consensus for new initiatives and ways of working
  • Effective product sensibility, with capability to advocate and drive key product innovations or opportunities with the developer community
