About the Role
We have exciting Brand Home Guide and Lead Guide opportunities available to join the talented team at our Lagavulin distillery.
Being an integral part of the visitor centre team, as a Brand Home Guide, you’ll be required to deliver high standards of customer service and an exceptional and memorable visitor experience. Our tours are the opportunity for our visitors to learn who we are and what we do, you’ll be guiding them around our beautiful distillery representing the brand, telling our unique story and Diageo using the full training provided.
You will assist with ticket sales and promoting our brand throughout the full experience. From warmly greeting our guests to providing advice and information on the offerings of our world class visitor experience.
Our impressive whisky bar holds many of our products, therefore shop duties and upselling products will be required alongside the merchandising of our other products in the retail area. You'll help with the planning and implementation of special events throughout the year.
As well as delivering exceptional and memorable experiences, the Brand Home Lead Guide will be vital to the day to day running of the visitor centre, organising tours and allocating them to your team. You'll manage stock, handle email enquiries and manage both the safe and till for banking purposes. You'll also be able to lead projects and put forward your own ideas to sustain and improve the business.
You'll be responsible for driving the performance of the Brand Home and through personal application be able to enhance the quality and experience of our tours whilst assisting in the day to day running of the visitor centre.
You’ll be required to be part of the on-call duty management team rota covering both the Brand Home and the Distillery and full training for this will be provided.
Please note these roles are permanent full-time comprised of annualised hours. This means that during peak tourist season you may work full-time hours (circa 38 hours per week) and accordingly will work fewer hours throughout the rest of the year e.g. November to March. Annual salary is paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
This is the dream role for a natural storyteller. Alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills, you’ll be a natural presenter with the ability to engage visitors with your story-telling skills and with the support of our training programme, you’ll develop your whisky knowledge to educate and inspire every visitor.
