Secondment / Fixed Term Contract (12 month)

Here at GSK, we are on the lookout for a highly skilled Engineering Technician to join our dedicated team in Barnard Castle.

As an Engineering Technician you will provide comprehensive technical support, ensuring equipment repairs and continuous running adjustments are carried out in compliance with regulatory standards. You will also be involved in various projects, line improvements, quality, safety & continuous improvement activities.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Operation, maintenance, repair and improvement of a wide range of Filling and Packaging equipment.
  • Technical support for new product introduction, including equipment upgrades, machine improvements etc.
  • Engineering Change Control (ECC) initiation, completion and sign off.
  • M-ERP activities. Orders, Notifications, Data Maintenance.
  • Ordering of machine spares.
  • Equipment upgrades through continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Time Served Apprentice - Mechanical or Multi-skilled.
  • HNC Qualified in an Engineering discipline.
  • Relevant manufacturing industry experience.
  • Level 3/4 NVQ or equivalent qualification.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • FMCG packaging experience.
  • Knowledge cGMP and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, Visions Systems, Sensors, Inputs etc. with an understand of how to diagnose faults.
