E-Serve is the delivery arm of Ofgem, the regulator of Britain’s gas and electricity markets, and is helping to shape the future of the energy market – delivering better energy efficiency through renewable energy sources, and protecting the interests of energy consumers. If you choose to be part of our team you can expect plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience, with the professional support you need to reach your full potential.

This role, which sits within our Policy and Engagement Hub, will suit an individual with highly developed admin skills. The team manages the day to day operations of our high profile environmental schemes and you’ll be a first point of contact for customers who have queries, issues or complaints. These schemes offer participants financial incentives to adopt more environmentally-friendly models of energy supply. You’ll be dealing with a wide range of queries, by telephone and by email, so excellent communication skills are very important. You’ll deliver advice and resolutions on the spot when you can, or refer issues to colleagues when more complex issues or questions present themselves.

It’s important that you bring a keen eye for detail and can take a methodical approach to what you do, even when working in a fast paced-environment.  Previous experience in a customer focused role and the ability to work with complex processes and subject matter are both essential. You should be well-organised, good at prioritising your work, and committed to playing your part in a team environment. Good IT skills and familiarity with MS Office are essential.

Ofgem is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment is decided on the basis of open and fair competition, merit and business need.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

  • Up to 30 days’ annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Subsidised gym
  • Interest free season ticket loan
  • Rental deposit scheme
  • Perkbox (staff discount scheme)
  • Employee Wellbeing Programme.
