This is an exciting opportunity to join GSK, as a Global HCP Engagement Director , reporting into the VP, Pharma Commercial Practices Head.

The role is accountable for operational delivery in an efficient and compliant manner for promotional Healthcare Professional / External Expert engagement activities across Pharma, Vaccines, R&D and ViiV businesses of GSK. With the newly formed Future ready organisation, this role is responsible for leading the HCP engagement strategy and HCP stewardship with senior stakeholders in Pharma Commercial.

This role would require relevant subject matter expertise and capability to lead a functional team across several global locations and effectively manage multiple stakeholders at various levels across Pharma, Vaccine and R&D business, to drive process improvements and strategic changes associated with HCP Engagement.

Your responsibilities:

  • E2E accountability for the operational delivery of the HCP/ EE engagement process including transparency reporting. Provide a central service through onshore and offshore hubs to Pharma, Vaccines, R&D, ViiV for the efficient and compliant contracting of HCPs/EEs for all cross-border activities
  • Shape and implement corporate strategies for HCP engagement and disclosure practices - including HCP lifecycle management and stewardship through data analytics and benchmarking
  • Influence the HCP engagement strategies at global and country level, working directly with GMs, BU Commercial Heads
  • Drive a culture of Operational excellence and continuous process improvements by undertaking regular end to end process reviews, proactively working with stakeholders to identify gaps and conducting systematic analysis of performance metrics and quality assessment
  • Developing and maintaining operational frameworks to support the governance of HCP engagement and Transfer of Value (ToV) reporting
  • Leader of the global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for transparency which will be handling payment and data reconciliation for EE engagements
  • Responsible for identifying, understanding and evaluating the impact of external regulations for HCP engagement and create solutions, as necessary
  • Ensure connectivity and provide SME input to functional interfaces such as Compliance & Ethics, Governance framework, Anti-Corruption and Bribery CoE, GSK Tech

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Significant experience leading a business process/function at a global or regional level within a leading pharmaceutical business or a similar organization
  • Evidence of building a team of 30-40 FTEs including setting up governance, performance management and capability building mechanisms
  • Evidence of delivering major cross-functional projects and change management ideally at an enterprise level
  • Track record of line/matrix staff management and coaching
  • Understanding of medical governance and commercial operations in the context of pharmaceutical landscape to enable partnering with wide group of stakeholders
  • Expertise on promotional and non-promotional meetings and provide advice on principles and written standards, ensuring cross-functional alignment and digital enablement.
  • Ability to understand, synthesize and evaluate the impact and interrelationships of evolving external regulations for HCP engagement and create solutions to address new needs where necessary (e.g. meeting requirements of US Sunshine Act, ABAC, CIA requirements, EFIA financial disclosure)
  • Identify and resolve issues relating to complex HCP engagement process and management of all parties involved in engagements (external HCP, GSK business owner and host country).
  • Tact and diplomacy in managing HCPs/External Experts, when expectations exceed GSK standard practice and policy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise on scientific engagement and commercial practices, third party risk management, fair market value mechanisms and restrictions on HCP payments for large markets
  • Expertise on promotional and non-promotional meetings and provide advice on principles and written standards, ensuring cross-functional alignment and digital enablement.

  • Provide interpretation, guidance and judgment to scientists and senior leaders on governance matters relating to HCP engagement (e.g. managing spending Caps on individual HCPs expenditures, defining transfer of value).
