Prevention Education Officer, Open to flexible working

Are you someone that’s passionate about safeguarding young people who are constantly under the threat of being taken advantage of? Do you enjoy supporting people to recognise the signs of radicalisation and developing training that focuses on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people?
Our Community Safety Team is seeking to recruit an exceptional candidate to support schools and other educational providers within Hackney to deliver ‘Prevent’ activity in order to increase young people’s resilience to terrorism.
The Prevent Education Officer is a high profile role. We are seeking a dynamic, versatile and resilient individual with prior experience in the education sector. You will be responsible for ensuring that Prevent in local educational provision is delivered in accordance with Hackney’s vision and values and is balanced against compliance with the Equality Act, 2010 and the Human Rights Act.

It would be desirable if you have Qualified Teaching Status / PGCE qualification but it is not essential.
The requirements below are essential:
You should be prepared to work occasional evenings and weekends as well as travel for business purposes.
The successful candidate must be willing to obtain Security Clearance (SC Enhanced level) and checks on online presence to prevent any reputational risks to the Council.
