A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a fixed term contract until May 2023 as the Tackling Loneliness Project Officer in the Volunteer Network Operations Department at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
Based at home, with occasional travel to SSAFA Central Office in London, you will co-ordinate the Tackling Loneliness and Isolation workstream within SSAFA’s wider Serving Community Development Project. You will collaborate with SSAFA employees and volunteers to develop this exciting new service and in direct support of our Community Volunteers to deliver activities that improve social connections amongst the serving community and their families.
About the team
You will be part of the small Serving Community Development Project Team, which is part of the Volunteer Network Operations Department.
To carry out this role successfully you will have an in depth understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces and their families, and a commitment to the provision of quality services to support beneficiaries.
You should be experienced in contributing to the delivery of projects within a set timescale and participating in organisational change. Previous experience of supporting and engaging volunteers is required. You will be required to build and sustain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
