ICS, Client Monies and Bank Reconciliation Senior Assistant Finance Operations, Open to flexibility

The Opportunity

The Shared Services Organisation requires a Senior Assistant within the R2R Client & Control Accounting team. This role is responsible for the correct management of client monies and for the reconciliation of the Firm’s bank accounts.

The Client and Control Accounting team comprises 10 people (including a Manager and an Assistant Manager) all of whom are based in Milton Keynes supporting the UK and Swiss Firms comprising 17,500 Partners and staff including 24 UK Offices and 5 Swiss offices.

Responsibilities

There are two main elements to this role, Client Monies and Bank Reconciliations and you will be expected to be able to cover all aspects of the role. It is critical that legislation and internal controls are followed in this regulated area.

Client Money

  • Conduct mandated client account reconciliation reviews according to strict guidelines
  • Conduct full client account reconciliation reviews according to strict guidelines
  • Complete Annual Interest Summaries for Full Client Accounts
  • Arrange BACS, CHAPS and Cheque Payments where appropriate
  • Record and manage all Clients’ money movements
  • Regulatory return
  • Complete request and approvals for mandated client accounts
  • Complete requests and approvals for new full client accounts

Bank Accounts

  • Complete Bank Reconciliations across the firms’ c80 bank accounts in a timely manner
  • Arrange transfers between accounts where appropriate
  • Processing adhoc payments as required

Commission Accounting (residual work in now closed business) 

  • Client Money-Commission Refund
  • Commission Clawbacks
  • Commission Posting

Assisting with the administration of pensions in Jersey, Guernsey and The Isle of Man

Continuous Service Improvement

  • Proactively seek process improvements and establish agreed best practice going forward

Requirements

Essential

  • Excellent customer service skills showing attention to detail and customer focus, with a good understanding of the client’s needs and priorities
  • A drive to continually improve processes
  • Work using their own initiative. 
  • Team player who is reliable and respects others, with a desire and drive to meet and exceed team targets
  • Project a professional image of the Shared Services Organisation at all times
  • Demonstrate a methodical, analytical and clear approach to problems
  • Demonstrate a professional, friendly and approachable manner coupled with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels, especially when under pressure
  • Good listener with a calm manner, and the ability to ask effective questions
  • The ability to act with urgency when necessary
  • Open, receptive and adaptable to change
  • Positive, can do attitude
  • Previous experience of working within a finance function
  • Good Excel skills and knowledge of Macros
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE passes or equivalent qualifications with Maths and English as essential subjects

Desired

  • AAT Qualified or working towards qualification
  • Certified CSI Yellow Belt
