An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking data professional to join our Transformation team as a Business Data Consultant to help us leverage modern data frameworks to transform the data landscape. We are responsible for application ownership of strategic group data assets including supporting operating models & providing the Group with data that is understood, available, reliable and used, enabling us to get closer to our customers. Our team has an important role to play as we drive forward the data agenda to meet the future needs of our customers and the evolving external environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with our colleagues in IT on change initiatives impacting our data landscape to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Liaise with colleagues within Transformation to provide architectural guidance on data centric projects, orchestrating the delivery of technical capabilities to support business requirements.
  • Challenge and expand the existing design governance of data change initiatives across both existing and future systems (i.e. Big Data).
  • Acting as a source of expertise for our Big Data platform, supporting Big Data consultancy activities within Transformation for the applications we own.
  • Managing a network of stakeholders across business and technical disciplines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how data can support the overall service to customers and delivery of the Group's business objectives.

What we're looking for:

  • Exposure to and understanding of modern Big Data frameworks and architecture such as Hadoop, alongside traditional database / data warehousing platforms.
  • Experience of Change / Design management.
  • Application or Business operating model experience.
  • Delivering at pace working within Agile project delivery.
  • An understanding of Technical Architecture.
  • A keen interest in data and enthusiasm to develop knowledge and understanding of new platforms.
