Project Support Officer, Open to flexible working

We are expanding our Innovations team and are looking for a Project Support Officer to help us deliver Wellcome's Innovations strategy. We help researchers and organisations across the world to transform great ideas, discoveries and inventions into treatments, products and cures for disease.

We will consider flexible working variations to be discussed at interview stage.

About the job

To succeed in this role, you will:

In this role you will help develop, implement and maintain high-quality operational systems; support contract management and grant payments; and contribute towards Innovations' communications activities.
Working with stakeholders from within Innovations and across Wellcome, you will support a variety of projects and activities including:

Developing and maintaining databases and systems for tracking divisional activities, outputs and performance.Helping to develop and document processes and processing grants payments.Contributing to internal and external divisional communications activities;Supporting IT projects such as introducing new hardware, software and Sharepoint sites.Helping to plan, co-ordinate and monitor divisional projects and operational activities.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to have:

Background / Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience of database management and data analysis
  • Project management experience
  • Working within a business / operations environment
  • Communications experience - writing or editing newsletters/ web stories/articles
  • Team working and contributing to delivering team objectives

Skills:

Essential:

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey key points concisely and clearly
  • Able to work under pressure, effectively prioritising and meeting deadlines while delivering high quality work
  • Well-developed interpersonal/relationship skills

Education & Qualifications

Essential:

  • A level standard education (or equivalent)
