GI Reserving Manager, Open to flexibility

The Actuarial team advise the Insurance Board on the material risks, methodologies and assumptions to be used and the appropriate capital and assets to hold against these risks and to cover all liabilities and management of the With-Profit Funds. The team also leads strategic projects that ensure the Insurance Group's capital and liquidity is handled deftly.

This is an opportunity for to lead the GI reserving function for Lloyds Bank General Insurance. Reporting directly to the GI Deputy Actuary you may already be a people manager or looking for your first move into management. If you're passionate about improving processes and delivering efficient services, together we make it possible.

This is a highly rewarding and visible role, responsible for the efficient and effective running of the Reserving Function, the delivery of IFRS statutory and Sol ii TP reserves. Managing a team of 4, you'll be an excellent role model, able to develop and engage others to deliver and adept at tailoring your communication style to engage and influence when supporting the Deputy Actuary in presenting and explaining results to the business.

In this role, you'd be involved in the regular production of:

  • IFRS Reserves,
  • Solvency II TPs, and
  • Claims for the business plan
  • Regular support to Claims Insight and Pricing
  • Ensuring models and governance around models is maintained.

Day to day management and development of the team and working on projects and other related opportunities

And on your CV, we'll be looking for the following essential skills:

  • Qualified actuary with reserving experience

It would be helpful if you had previous experience in managing teams however this could also be a great move if leading others is something you would like to do next.
