Senior Audio Visual Consultant – Manchester, Open to flexibility

As a result of the continued growth of our Advanced Digital Engineering group, we are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our audio visual and multimedia consultancy team. We provide a diverse spectrum of consultancy services ranging from strategy, through to detailed design and technical review, to project support and management. 

Our clients are spread across a variety of markets, making for a varied and interesting portfolio. We support clients in the corporate, financial, sports and education sectors, as well as residential and commercial developers. We have global clients for whom we lead all of their audio-visual projects around the world. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a deep understanding of audio visual design and of project management and strong interpersonal skills. This role will based at our Manchester offices, which are located next to Manchester Piccadilly station. 


As a Senior Consultant, you will work alongside other members of our audio visual and multimedia team with a leading global client. You will work with our senior team members, primarily on the audio-visual design and management of multiple fast-track EMEA audio visual projects for our global client. The role will involve: 

  • Review of client requirements and preparation of project documentation for multiple projects across EMEA on behalf of our global client
  • Input into design of custom spaces
  • Monitoring of audio visual installation companies during construction and liaison with project representatives
  • On-site witness of commissioning of installations
  • You will also be involved in projects for other clients, working alongside senior staff in the technical design process and the integration of audio visual requirements into architectural and services designs

Requirements and Skills 

  • Typically, around 10+ years’ practical experience of audio and video systems design, installation and project management, gained from another consultancy, an audio-visual integrator or from the systems support team of a manufacturer
  • Preferably experience of installation or commissioning on-site
  • Degree in a relevant subject desirable
  • Audio visual design experience should cover audio systems, video and graphics systems and control systems
  • A basic understanding of IP networking is essential

The successful candidate should display: 

  • Good communications skills, both in written English and Oral English for both technical and non-technical readers/listeners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to juggle several tasks at a time while keeping to deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A basic understanding of commercial issues such as time management
  • Ability to be a team player

Desirable Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Experience in the programming and configuration of systems (AMX, Crestron, Medialon, QSC, Polycom, Cisco, BSS etc) would be preferable
  • Detailed knowledge of wired and wireless networks and their use in audio visual systems
  • Understanding of systems and building integration protocols, eg KNX
