Membership Secretary, part-time, 11 hours per week

PMRGCAuk is looking for a well-organised Membership Secretary, with experience of Salesforce, to coordinate, administer and develop our Membership programme.

As the charity has no office and staff work remotely, the Membership Secretary must be able to work proactively and independently, while also communicating effectively with colleagues.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Administer the membership system of applications and renewals, including all data inputting.
  2. Develop, update and administer the Salesforce membership database.
  3. Be the first point of contact for membership enquiries by email and telephone.
  4. Liaise with volunteers on administrative matters when required.
  5. Receive and sort the post, answering general correspondence.
  6. Bank and record cheques received, on a weekly basis.
  7. Coordinate bookings for the annual Members’ Day & AGM.

Plus other responsibilities commensurate with the general scope and purpose of the post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

Experience    

  • Experience of Salesforce as a user and administrator.

Knowledge    

  • An understanding of data protection and the implications of GDPR.

Skills    

  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people, with a confident telephone manner.
  • High level of competence in IT including MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Methodical, with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in different locations.

  • Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of personal responsibility, able to work independently.

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a membership organisation.

  • Knowledge of the UK voluntary sector.

OTHER INFORMATION

Hours: 11 hours per week (we are open to flexibility with working pattern)

Location:   The charity does not have an office, so the role is home-based. However, proximity to London is preferred as some travel will be required for occasional meetings in London (reasonable expenses refundable)

Duration of contract:  Permanent

Holiday entitlement: 7.5 days per year (25 days full-time entitlement) plus statutory holidays pro rata.

Start date: End of April 2018
