Records Officer - Team Manager, Part time 18.5 hours/wk

Please note: This role will be on a job share basis and hours of work will need to be agreed in conjunction with the other post holder. We would expect the 18.5 hours to be split across 5 working days per week

The Records Hub Team play an important role in managing our physical files. They run the off-site and on-site file storage service, offer advice and guidance on the storage, retrieval and eventual destruction of physical files. We are looking for a team manager to support the team in further developing and delivering this service.

The role will involve:

  • Liaison with staff and managers within the Council
  • Influencing and shaping how the service moves forward, by effectively managing the team
  • Help to ensure that the organisation is meeting its statutory obligations with regards to Records Management
  • The role is based in the Business Services Team within Corporate Resources, the wider teams remit is varied and there will be opportunities for the post holder to be involved in a variety of activities.


  • Proven team management experience
  • Able to provide advice and guidance regarding Records Management principles to internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Able to deal with sensitive and confidential information from a variety of sources with respect
  • Application of data quality principles and proven experience of attention to detail
