Group Transformation's Risk team is an innovative and rapidly evolving area within the bank and as such offers a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to contribute to the future of Digital Banking across all of our brands. Group Transformation is constantly evolving, developing new ways of working to transform the digital capability of the Group.

You'll be a thought leader that will support Group Transformation in developing its privacy and records management control environment. You'll understand what a great customer experience looks like in the digital context and be passionate about getting this right.

You'll build strong relationships across the business to support the achievement of our strategic goals. Your accountabilities will include:

  • Lead in supporting the Data Privacy Accountable Person to drive data privacy capability to improve colleague understanding of how data privacy requirements impact their role.
  • Lead a small team of privacy specialists, undertaking performance management, coaching, personal development etc
  • Act as a single point of contact for data privacy within Group Transformation to:
  • Promote data privacy and records best practice, share knowledge and provide advice and guidance to colleagues;
  • Represent Group Transformation at governance forums and other relevant meetings and deputise for the Data Privacy Accountable Person at governance committees;
  • Ensure key processes such as Privacy & Records Impact Assessments, data privacy complaints, breach management and reporting operate effectively;
  • Assess compliance with Policy, report gaps, and facilitate the provision of management information and co-ordinate remediation activity.

Additionally you'll engage with Group Data Privacy Team to understand the impact that legislative changes will have on their area and cooperate, as necessary, on group wide data privacy programmes; will ensure third parties who process personal data on behalf of their area comply with data privacy requirements and will ensure data privacy requirements are considered when transferring personal data overseas.

What we'll need from you;

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Strong leadership skills to lead and motivate a team of specialists
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to adapt the communication style to suit a variety of different stakeholders across the Digital Business
  • A strategic thinker with the confidence to challenge colleagues when required and be proactive in suggesting different ways of working
  • The ability to analyse both qualitative and quantitative data ensuring that the key issues are identified and presented in reports, which are often presented to Senior Transformation Execs and Group Executive's
  • Experience in privacy and managing data risk
  • An understanding of the foundations and general principles that underpin Digital and the material differences in the way other areas of the bank operate.
