Administrator - Sports and Welfare Fund

West Midlands Fire Service
Full Time - 37 hours per week covering core hours of 10:00 - 15:00 hours Monday - Friday.
Temporary for a period of 12 months with potential for this to be extended.

Salary ??20,092- ??21,322

West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) is the second largest in the country, delivering Prevention, Protection and Response across the West Midlands.

Our Sports and Welfare Fund is a members-only 'club' exclusively for current and retired employees. The main objectives of the Fund are to provide access to sporting/social activities, recreational equipment, and all-round great value for money benefits for every member.
From the provision of water coolers, table tennis equipment, station TVs, plus day trips, theatre shows, concerts, cinema tickets and free family passes, the Sports and Welfare Fund supports its members during their working lives and into retirement.
Already an experienced Administrator and able to hit the ground running, you will provide a wide variety of tasks to support the effective and efficient delivery of administration for the funds committee and members.
Having excellent communication skills both verbally and written you will be required to liaise with members, brokers and other WMFS employees - able to explain processes and provide information as required.

You should have experience of planning and organising meetings - which could be face to face or via Microsoft Teams. This will include sending invites, tracking responses, creating agendas, taking notes, and producing grammatically accurate, clear, and concise minutes in a timely manner.

Computer literate, you will have experience of using a variety of software packages including O365, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and also be able to identify how to make best use of available technology.

Knowledge of QuickBooks would be preferred for the financial administration element of the role. Training on the required elements of this software package would be provided either online or by an external provider.

Educated to GCSE English Grade C or equivalent as a minimum, you should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to articulate clearly and confidently.

Having a positive outlook and able to work to tight deadlines, a flexible approach to work is essential, able to adapt to the needs of the Fund.

Whilst the post is based at our Headquarters in Birmingham, there will be a requirement to work, attend meetings, monthly draws, and training at other locations across the West Midlands. In the current climate, a proportion of time will be spent working from home - considering the needs of the business.

As part of the assessment process, you will need to complete a role specific exercise, several relevant tests and attend an interview.
