Programme Support Officer, Open to flexible working
- Contract Type
- Contract - interim/fixed term
FTC / Secondment (6 months)
Hackney is London’s most diverse, dynamic borough. Reaching from the Square Mile to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this is an area of rapid economic growth yet with more green spaces than any other inner London borough. We have some of the capital’s best schools, great transport links and a thriving cultural sector.
A lack of affordable homes is a key concern for Hackney’s residents, and addressing this is at the heart of the Council’s work. That’s why Hackney is building. The Council’s Regeneration team is building thousands of Council homes for social rent, shared ownership and outright sale at more than 30 sites across Hackney. It is leading on the delivery of this in-house programme at all stages – starting with setting the briefs for sites, selecting architects and the wider design teams, managing the design process and procuring contractors or developer partners.
The Council is looking for an experienced Programme Support Officer to join their forward-thinking and busy development team. If successful you will work across the directorate providing support to programme areas including Estate Regeneration, Housing Supply, Area Regeneration and Woodberry Down. The post holder will need to quickly establish strong working relationships with each team to support the effective management, development and delivery of regeneration in the borough.
As Programme Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, partners and contractors and will need to be confident and efficient at multitasking and a clear communicator. You will work closely with project teams to organise quarterly monitoring, prepare client care meetings, as well as coordinate project briefings and information sharing to ensure the smooth running of the Division.
Ideally you will have strong ICT skills, a track record of administrative support skills and experience of maintaining project management software, creating reports and supporting delivery teams with workflow processes.
At Hackney, we go that extra mile for our people and we offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive. We seek people with ambition, creativity and commitment to ensure our economic growth creates opportunities to transform the lives of our residents. Whilst a background in housing and regeneration is desirable for this role it is not essential as we are keen to recruit a Programme Support Officer with a wide range of skills and experiences.
If you share our values and ambitions and are ready to be part of our exciting journey please click 'Apply'.
When applying, there will be a number of questions relating to the post on the application form. It is essential that you complete the application questions, responding to each using examples of your skills, knowledge and experience. You are not required to submit a supporting statement or CV.
Closing date for applications: Wednesday 22nd September 2021
Interview date: W/C 6th October 2021

Hackney Council works to eradicate discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy and maternity, age and marital status.
