Your role

Our consultants work in a variety of projects to solve clients' toughest data problems by combining industry experience, consulting and analytical skills to create a lasting impact.

Our projects and clients vary greatly and your responsibilities will differ based on your level of experience/skillset and the focus of the client engagement, but within our Analytics & Cognitive Belfast practice, your role is likely to include some or all of the following:

  • Developing or leading the design and delivery of data solutions such as ETL components, data warehousing, reporting solutions, data migration or data virtualisation solutions;
  • Being hands on with data from initial concepts and assessment through to development and deployment;
  • Advising clients on appropriate tooling for a particular solution based on your expertise in specific technologies;
  • Providing specialist industry knowledge in the data & analytics domain to our clients and further our offering in new and innovative technologies or applications of technologies;
  • Managing or developing relationships with key client stakeholders and leading or participating in client workshops to capture business or technical requirements for a data solution;
  • Being highly collaborative, working closely with clients and end users;
  • Focusing on exceeding client expectations and delivering against our continuous improvement goals, taking a client problem and turning it into a technical solution;
  • Supporting our future pipeline of work, from design to sales, through to setup and delivery; and
  • Working in an environment where self-development, learning and knowledge sharing is actively encouraged as part of the day-to-day work of the team.

Location: Your home office is in Belfast, but this client-facing role provides lots of opportunity for travel in the UK and overseas.

Work pattern: This is a permanent full-time role.

Your professional experience

We are looking for candidates of all experience levels who are able to demonstrate skills and experience in some of the following areas.

  • A broad understanding of the values of business intelligence, data management or analytics.
  • Helping our clients define their long term Data Strategy to ensure that data is supporting their business objectives and managed and used as a valuable asset
  • Working with our clients to understand the Data Governance needs in their organisation - undertaking requirements gathering, client interviewing, documentation of processes and process assessment, and effectively communicating these to various audiences
  • Design and implementation of Data Governance and information management solutions, and organisation models to deliver Data Strategy
  • Development of metadata and/or reference data to standardise categories, reporting across an organisation (i.e. consistent hierarchies, consolidation of categories into master sets, etc)
  • Participation or involvement with data architecture development, including logical, technical or solution architecture design
  • Experience in data modelling of any type: conceptual, logical, dimensional or physical
  • Experience developing data dictionaries, data vocabularies, taxonomies or ontologies
  • Business Analysis skills and experience such as requirements definition, information gathering, discovery and/or specification development
  • Understanding of data privacy concepts, including classification of data and GDPR
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Information Architecture principles and familiarity with processes, policies and any of the key technology vendor platforms
  • Demonstrate knowledge of data transformation, data migration or reference data
  • Ability to elicit, interpret, clarify and implement requirements working with business and technical stakeholders
  • Business consulting: Experience of working with clients to understand, refine and execute technology-enabled change projects.
  • Team working: A strong background in collaborative working with other creative and passionate data specialists
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills in both Agile and traditional methodologies. Able to plan and deliver the scope and deliverables of the team, monitor progress, take controlling actions and report to programme leadership
  • People Management: Able to develop the skills and competency of junior resource and experience in providing coaching and pastoral support
  • Experience of sales - including the development of new business, bids and expansion on existing accounts
  • Manage stakeholders using clear communications and be able to form strong client relationships
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of risk in relation to delivery projects
