We’re seeking a motivated chemist to join our Drug Substance and Product Analysis team at GSK’s flagship R&D site at Stevenage in Hertfordshire.
As a member of a team you will progress analytical aspects aligned to the development, manufacture and supply of new small molecule drug substances intended for use in the production of drug products.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Your role will be predominantly laboratory based, involving independently executing analytical testing using a variety of analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, KF and spectroscopic techniques.
- You will be will covering projects right across the development cycle from first time in human through to commercialisation.
- Duties will include executing analytical work in accordance with GMP
- Authoring and executing protocols that cover for example method validation and method transfer.
- Batch analysis, assessment of intermediates and method development.
- You will be required to clearly document the results of your experiments and communicate the results and your conclusions to other team members.
- You may also be required to author sections of regulatory submissions and contribute to the definition of the drug substance control strategy.
- The role is highly technical and dynamic as you will be working in a number of multi-disciplinary project teams. You will thrive in this environment if you are able to effectively manage multiple priorities, communicate your recommendations clearly, and enjoy working in teams.

- Relevant qualifications / experience in Chemistry (BSc or M.Chem)
- Previous experience / knowledge of analytical techniques (specifically; HPLC, GC, KF and spectroscopic techniques)
- Previous experience of analytical development of novel drug substances in a research and development setting.
- GMP knowledge / experience
