Returners Programme Group Internal Audit - Senior Audit Manager, Open to flexibility

The Internal Audit Returners Scheme offers a range of opportunities for returning professionals who have previously worked within an internal audit function or experience within the banking industry and looking to move into an Audit career. We have roles available at senior levels in London, Edinburgh and Bristol.

You will be highly competent in managing a variety of projects and leading larger complex audits while working collaboratively across the business/risk/ audit matrix to establish and build relationships with stakeholders and to influence business processes to drive control improvements within the Group risk framework.

As we move towards a more digitized age in banking and more reliance on data analytics to support our audit effectiveness, you will also have a good level of knowledge, ability and confidence when using digital & IT tools and be highly adept at complex problem solving in difficult or strategic situations, using a variety of information sources.

Key accountabilities would include:

  • Responsible for the day to day management of more complex audits and matrix management of the allocated audit team to ensure delivery on time, budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Audit colleagues across business and risk facing disciplines to deliver assigned Audits /assurance activity through identification of key risks and controls.
  • Provide senior professional audit/specialist expertise and input into the development of methodology and standards.
  • For assigned areas contribute to the development of the audit universe and plan and prioritise work based on risk and an understanding of business objectives.
  • Lead, manage and/or undertake audits for assigned business/ risk area to provide high quality independent assurance with minimal review by the Head of / Audit Director. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, influencing senior stakeholders to agree relevant issues and actions to enhance controls.

Recognising that the transition back to work can be a challenge this 16 week internship programme is designed specifically with this in mind - with the aim of offering you a permanent position at the end.

If your initial application is successful we'd look for you to join us for an Assessment Day during June.

The programme commences on 10th September and runs for 16 weeks. For successful Returners, permanent roles would follow. To qualify, you'll need to be returning from a break of (minimum) two years.

Annualised Salary for our Internal Audit Returners Programme is from £55,000. Salary would be reviewed once placed into a permanent role at the end of the programme.

For the duration of the programme you would receive a pro rata salary as shown and a lump sum to take as cash or use to purchase a tailored benefits package tailored to meet your lifestyle choices.
