Efficient and effective processing of security clearance and client-led screening administration within specified legislative, procedural and service guidelines supporting all activities relating to client screening requirements, security clearance applications and aftercare of cleared employees and partners.


  • Deliver excellent service in line with security clearance and client-led screening processes and ensure service level agreements are achieved
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships, internally & externally
  • Process all administration relating to screening/clearance including production of internal communications, preparation of reference requests and completion of application forms
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of the Firm’s clients, the Security Policy Framework and the Risk Management policy and process developments
  • Manage list X releases with the guidance of the security controller and implement changes accordingly ensuring a smooth transition to the business
  • Ensure compliance with the Firm’s policies and best practice and maintain an awareness of instructions for working with/on UK Government information and Government analytics data
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Government Security Classification scheme
  • Propose changes to procedures and documentation 
  • Pro-actively follow up outstanding documentation and requests for information in agreed timescales
  • Produce reports and management information
  • Provide the business with the screening/clearance information they require to assess employee suitability for client engagement

Typical activities

  • Manage the security clearance, client-led screening and references mailbox.  Accurately process all requests received in accordance with agreed key performance indicators.
  • Prioritise urgent business requests and react to business needs
  • Coordinate information for the accurate and timely processing of screening/security clearance applications and notification of changes in circumstances to the DBS and FCA.
  • Develop professional working relationships with key operational customers
  • Liaise with external providers/key stakeholders to ensure security clearance and screening requests are executed
  • Consider requests in accordance with the Firm’s policies.  Re-direct inappropriate requests and/or obtain sanction for non-standard solutions.
  • Identify process issues and suggest potential solutions to the Employee Services Manager, Coach or directly to Enterprise Risk Management to ensure continuous improvement
  • Contribute to wider UK TSS projects and initiatives
  • Engage and share knowledge with Enterprise Risk Management and client engagement teams
  • Commit to own personal development plan and completion of appropriate learning and development activities
  • Contribute to other Employee Services activities at the direction of the Employee Services Manager or Coach
  • Provide references to internal and external customers

 Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a service delivery and team environment, ideally in security vetting or similar screening role
  • Attention to detail and focused upon accuracy and quality
  • Able to work to and enhance prescribed procedures
  • Qualified to GCSE level or equivalent
