Community Engagement is a priority for the Mayor of London. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team at London’s City Hall who are working to deliver the Mayor’s ambitious vision to engage with London’s diverse communities and ensure that insight from this engagement is used to improve the GLA’s policy and programmes.

As Community Engagement Officer, you will lead on engaging with communities, facilitate stakeholder relationships, deliver projects and manage events.  You will have proven experience in the field of community engagement, strong organisational and communications skills, and be able to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment. We are looking for change-makers with a proven track-record in using creative, person-centred approaches to engagement.

This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL).   At present GLA staff are working largely from home, with office space available at our offices based at City Hall, More London.  Over the coming weeks and months, we will moving to hybrid working, linked to our relocation programme. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.   In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave (pro rata), interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
