Brand Operations Assistant, Open to flexibility

Our brands - including Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland - are some of the most iconic in the UK, with over 320 years of history. Brands & Marketing is responsible for managing or supporting all marketing activity across the Group - and we're building on our great brands, one customer at a time, whilst investing in our marketing capabilities, systems and people.

Brand Operations act as the engine room of all operational brand activities, developing and actively maintaining a robust and inspiring brand infrastructure to effectively manage our brand assets and intellectual property (IP). We are also responsible for managing brand risks, championing and embedding effective policies and processes to protect our brands and IP.

We are looking for someone to join the team on a six month contract or secondment basis to support across all aspects of operational brand management and protection, including managing the maintenance and development of our "Brand Toolkit" intranet site, and assisting in the day-to-day management of the use - and misuse - of brand assets like our logos, trademarks and fonts.

Some brand and / or intellectual property knowledge, or experience of working in a communications environment would be an advantage, but certainly isn't critical to this particular role.

If you have a background in operations, process design, risk management or business support more broadly, you could be a great fit for us. But ultimately, what we're looking for is someone who is super organised, has an analytical way of thinking and fantastic attention to detail - and above all, can embrace the GB&M 'our way' mindset of think customer, be brave and try it, do it.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Maintenance of our Brand Toolkit intranet site, including management of change requests as part of a planned monthly release schedule to ensure the site is kept up-to-date.
  • Support the active management of our key brand assets and intellectual property (IP), liaising with our legal team to manage the registration and renewal of trademarks, and managing the administration and approval of intellectual property legal agreements.
  • Assist with brand protection and risk management including management of external brand infringements, liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers and supporting case workflow and enforcement activity.
  • Triaging and responding to day-to-day operational brand queries received into the team's shared mailbox.
  • Support the team on budget management and cost control, including day-to-day management of purchase orders and invoices.
  • Delivery of ad-hoc projects such as process improvements, production of technical brand guidelines / governance documentation and implementation of brand into our internal office environments.
