Who is the Account Executive 

The MRG (Multiple Retail Group) function of Diageo works with on trade multiple operators and key regional independents such as bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, etc. and manage our premium core brand channel. As an Account Executive you must have the ability to engage and excite these retailers through great brand passion combined with the ability to build winning commercial propositions and activations.

You will manage a portfolio of customers which include MRG’s and key independents within the Anglia territory (Oxford, Cambridge, Northampton and Norwich).

In order to achieve success, you will need to prioritize these clients by importance and build an effective calling strategy that best enables you to drive volume through your top accounts and distribution channels.

As part of the role, you will implement joint business plans with activation calendars that drive both value and volume with your key customers, giving top visibility to our fantastic brands to attract consumers into choosing them over our competitors.

You will create a new business strategy that is underpinned by building a solid route to market network with the key players in your area.

As someone who is familiar with the venues in your territory, you will also build and manage a pipeline of opportunity and have a plan to win this business from the competition.

Required Experience  

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in Sales
  • A passion for the spirits industry and an ability to engage and excite customers through your knowledge and insight in trending cocktails
  • Ideally you will have proven experience in sales within the drinks industry, but a strong background as a brand ambassador would also be an amazing fit for the team
  • Numerically skilled and comfortable analyzing data
  • You’re great at negotiating and building relationships with customers by making commercial propositions that focus on mutual growth
  • Great knowledge of the Anglia (Oxford, Cambridge, Northampton and Norwich) hospitality sector including the area’s best pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels and nightclubs
  • The right to work in the UK, be over 21 years old and hold a full, clean driving license and proof of driving experience of at least 1 year (mandatory)
