About the role
This role sits within the UK Duty Team, working closely with the Head of UK Duty, Diageo’s GB & NI Commercial Teams and External officers from HMRC to ensure that Diageo’s Excise Due Diligence processes are fit for purpose and performed rigorously.
This role will provide expert knowledge and guidance in relation to all GB customers to reduce excise fraud and related risks within our GB supply chains.
You will work closely with colleagues from supply, GB & NI commercial, GB & NI legal, DBS Customer Services, Global Tax and International Trade ensuring due diligence processes are optimised and evolve with the business. You’ll be responsible for owning Diageo’s Excise Due Diligence policy document and will need to hold colleagues to account where Diageo’s actions fall short of its intentions.
To be successful in role you will have experience working in taxation in the UK (preferably as a legal, tax or risk professional).
It is critical that you have excellent relationship building skills with the willingness to hold colleagues to account.
Knowledge of HMRC Legislation relating to excise due diligence and experience in dealing with HMRC would be an advantage.
Ideally you'll experience in Risk/Compliance but this is not crucial.
You’ll have the ability to combine commercial experience, eye for business and instinct with analytical rigour and sound problem solving skills.
