We are looking for a friendly, outgoing and experienced marketing professional who thrives when working in a lively team environment, but also enjoys having autonomy in devising, managing, and implementing their own activities to best meet the objectives for their business area.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the marketing activities to support, retain and grow our customer base (made up of universities, research institutions and corporate organisations) in a defined set of countries across Europe including Italy, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager, you will advise and lead on the marketing strategy to help form and strengthen relationships with librarians and research managers through a range of promotional tools and techniques, influencing engagement with our customers by bringing a marketing dimension to the customer experience.
You will also create campaigns that directly engage with library users and researchers to raise awareness and stimulate readership of IOP Publishing's journals and ebooks, ensuring good ROI for the customer and encouraging subscription renewals.

The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate solid knowledge and experience of marketing as well as a working knowledge of a variety of marketing channels.
- Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, face to face and written, and be confident in liaising with stakeholders and external customers at all levels.
- Possess creative flair and excellent copy writing skills.
- Measure performance against goals, evaluate results and seek improvements.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills.
- Be an enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Be willing to travel.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer employees an excellent pension scheme, discretionary annual bonus, 25+ days holiday, volunteering days, and a comprehensive benefits package including private medical insurance, life assurance, as well as a range of flexible benefits such as cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership, healthcare cash plan, and childcare vouchers.
Our modern and contemporary offices are based in the thriving city centre of Bristol, a stone's throw away from Temple Meads train station, and within walking distance of Cabot Circus shopping centre, and numerous caf??s and restaurants. Named on more than one occasion as the best city in the UK to live in, Bristol is a cosmopolitan and creative city boasting a historic harbour, internationally renowned cultural institutions and home to world-class festivals and events.
The contractual location of this role is from our Bristol office, but most employees are continuing to work from home until later this year, and we will soon be moving to a more dynamic and blended combination of office and remote working. As there will not be a requirement for the person in this role to be in the office on a weekly basis, we are open to considering applicants from a wider geographical area who are happy to travel to Bristol a couple of times a month, subject to business needs.
