Our Department Employee Health & Wellbeing (EHW) was created in 2017 by Emma Walmsley through the realignment of resources from the EHS&S function and the Center of Excellence of Health and Wellbeing.

Following review, a role focusing on bringing leading edge thinking to inform strategy and the development and nurturing of external strategic partnerships is required to help deliver against the aspirations of being a Modern Employer and delivering upper quartile health and wellbeing for employees across our organisation.

What are the key role responsibilities?

  • You will bring external insights, benchmarking and learning from experts and other organisations
  • You will drive development of GSK EHW strategy with Leadership Team and others
  • You will lead development of focus areas eg mental wellbeing, Energy & Resilience programmes including Mindfulness, travel health, attendance management
  • You will foster incubation of ideas and design of innovate approaches for pilot
  • You will identify, develop and nurture internal and external strategic partnerships across the globe
  • You will lead evolution of EHW standards for GSK
  • You will lead establishment of consistent global capability requirements for health professionals
  • You will devise and oversee content and quality of EHW programmes and services

Basic qualifications:

What Qualifications do I need to apply?

You will be hold a Masters or Phd in Public Health, or be a medical doctor. Other relevant degrees will be considered.

What skills & experience do I need?

You will have a good understanding of the research and theory behind employee health and wellbeing strategies and practical implementation

You will lead the work globally engaging with a range of subject matter experts and will need to be seen as credible.

You will have a demonstrated experience of bringing leading edge thinking and insights. You will be expert at cultivating networks

You will be apt at applying subject matter expertise to develop and deliver strategy. You will be used to managing geographically dispersed peers to reach consensus

You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate, influence and work well with others in a culturally diverse matrixed organisation

You will have a high level of initiative with demonstrated ability to swiftly and accurately analyse situations across multiple culture with prior experience working in a dynamic corporate environment is preferred.

You will have the ability to deal with ambiguity, making sense of different approaches to achieve the same output.

Experience of working within a complex matrixed organisation will be very beneficial in this role.
