Are you an experienced Digital Governance Manager looking for a new, exciting opportunity? GSK have a new role for a Global Digital Governance Manager on a full-time permanent basis at GSK House.

As the Global Digital Governance Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the EDGE Marketing Operations team.

The main objective of your role is to ensure we have digital standards clearly defined to cover any types of marketing digital activities and to ensure we have the relevant processes and systems to apply those standards which are to be followed and understood by all in the organisation.

You will drive strategy to develop a fit-for-purpose process required to support global our Global Marketing Operations requirements to develop our digital capabilities and driver further market performance.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve the guidance and leadership to look forward to having a more productive working environment of digital stakeholder with higher quality of more effective digital presence. 

The Global Digital Governance will oversee our owned “always-on” channels: websites, social media accounts, mobile applications, etc. In total, over 2300 channels.

Responsibility is to ensure that for every channel type, we have relevant standards and guidelines, processes and tools to deliver our governance objectives, and on-going communication program to drive education and awareness. The combination of those aspects is key for success.

Standards & Guidelines: 

Standards and Guidelines have two main objectives. The first one is to drive efficiency by standardizing and optimizing ways of working. By delivering global standards and ensure Digital Operations adoption at local level, we enable a fast, cost-efficient delivery of our marketing initiatives. The second objective is compliance. Following the standards and guidelines should mitigate any risks and help marketeers to focus on performance aspects. Definition of standards will be done in close collaboration with teams of specialists: marketing operations, commercial, legal, cyber-security, safety, privacy and more. You will be the business representative and as such, you will own the decision on the right policy to apply. Your challenge will be to set the right balance to meet our compliance requirements, whilst keeping marketing performance and efficiency as our main objective.

Processes and tools: 

To apply our governance strategy, like tracking our owned channels, making sure they do comply with our guidelines or running compliance reviews with business owners, we need to have the right tools and processes in place. Our governance team has been developing innovating solutions to meet our objectives such as digital inventory, automated scanning or online questionnaires. Acting as a product owner, you will be accountable for maintaining and updating those tools, making sure the requirements from our different audiences are met and coordinate with our production agency monthly development sprints.

Education & Awareness: 

Good governance starts with awareness. We need to deliver an on-going information flow to ensure the basic rules are understood, but also to setup the right system to ensure more detailed documentations are available on-demand. To our marketing audience, we need to ensure we deliver training and educational material within the right format: bite size content, video, screen, recording, animations, etc. Your responsibility will be to federate and lead the governance community from a global level, leveraging internal networks, newsletters, forums, etc. Governance operates as a horizontal layer across multiple teams. The scope of the mission includes mature areas (e.g. websites) and areas to develop such as social media, healthcare professional, digital commerce, mobile application, media tags, CRM, etc. Expansion of our activities and collaboration with team leaders is a key aspect of the job.

Governance is the job; Digital is the environment – but we strive for efficiency and process optimization.

  • Solid experience in Digital Marketing, web, social media and commerce.
  • Knowledge of content production, PR, organic and paid, media, search, etc. and have proven experience in global organization
  • You are strongly organized, rigorous in everything you do.
  • You look for optimizations’ opportunities, seek for the optimal process, think out of the box, and get rid of any barriers.
  • You are comfortable with some technical aspects.
  • You have excellent communication skills. Ability to build relationships with a tech developer, legal counsel, or global marketing manager.
  • You are comfortable presenting over two hundred stakeholders in Digital Operations
  • Confidence handling challenging situations with senior management.
  • Resilient, ready to tackle big challenges in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experienced in delivery of complex programs in global organization with multiple teams involved.
  • You are not afraid to take responsibilities and set yourself accountable for opportunities you believe in.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in Governance is desirable but not essential.
