Banking Distribution Strategy - Senior Manager, Open to flexibility

The Retail Chief Operating Office (COO) Business Design Team is at the heart of the LBG's Distribution Strategy Review and our work affects Retail customers as well as those of other divisions, providing an excellent opportunity to influence an industry-wide change.

In this role, you'll lead a wide range of projects influencing development of the distribution strategy and take full ownership of the investment and benefits plan, key to successfully delivering our 2020 end state vision. You'll also be leading a team of high performing colleagues so you'll need to be an effective leader, someone that loves to play a key role in developing your team through personal and professional development.

In this high profile position you'll build relationships with colleagues across a wide variety of business areas including senior leaders and Directors across the Group. The environment is rewarding and demanding as we set ourselves high standards and your ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate thought leadership will be very important.

Typically, you'll be involved in the following :

  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the external market (both within banking and across other industries) to improve and evolve the LBG Community Bank Distribution Strategy
  • Build a deep understanding of retail banking customer behaviour to build distribution strategies to achieve specific business objectives (whether commercial or customer)
  • Utilise strong critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills to recommend and drive solutions/actions across Community Banking, mobilising initiatives as required to lift strategic choices off the page
  • Validate the current 2020 DSR end state and develop a vision for the Branch of the Future post 2020
  • Manage the delivery of various Exec level requests and actions, building papers and recommendations as appropriate
  • Lead a small team of Managers and contribute to the broader team to expand their capabilities
  • Ensure good governance and engagement is embedded into approach

Validated evidence of Critical thinking, influencing others and problem solving to deliver benefit for the business and customers is key here. Ideally, you'd have gained this in a consultancy role and have worked within the financial services sector.
