What impact will you make? The Opportunity  

We are looking for a Secretary to provide efficient, organised and flexible secretarial support to an allocated partner in the Nottingham Financial Advisory practice.

Role description 

This role offers the opportunity to provide support to the Financial Advisory team  and the opportunity to get involved in ad hoc projects/tasks.


You will be based in a Deloitte Nottingham office.


Core hours are 22.5 per week. This is a fixed term contract role. You will have

  • The ability to use own initiative and work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Advanced IT skills & Power Point essential as you will be creating and editing slide packs
  • Strong interpersonal skills; diplomatic, discreet and with the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives and clients A proven adaptable, keen and flexible approach
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a heavy workload and work effectively under pressure
  • A professional telephone manner


  • Telephone liaison & message taking
  • Deal with partner correspondence (e-mail, phone and mail), monitoring of inbox, prioritising and responding as appropriate, bringing information to the attention of the partner as required and during his/her absence
  • Juggles conflicting priorities with limited reference to Partner & Managers
  • Draft correspondence on behalf of partners and liaise with external contacts/client groups on behalf of partner
  • Acts on own initiative to ensure complex queries are progressed within timescales
  • Diary management & organisation of meetings
  • Travel arrangements of which much is international (itineraries, visas, currency arrangements)
  • Processing expenses
  • Filing, photocopying and mail distribution
  • Research using firm’s databases & other publications
  • Working as part of secretarial team
  • Providing cover for & assistance to other secretaries
  • Establish a rapport with clients, partners and staff
  • Plan, organise and administer large events and conferences (internal and external)
  • Could be expected to attend as event organiser both nationally and internationally
  • Agenda productions, meeting preparation and minute taking
  • Using knowledge of business to support partners
  • Role will involve building and maintaining relationships with overseas contacts
  • Using a sound knowledge of the business and partner client group/peer group to provide day to day support
  • May supervise & allocate work to others
  • Previous SAP experience is advantageous but training will be provided
