Assistant Manager - Bulk Annuities Proposition, Open to flexibility

The role is in a newly created Insurance Finance team which has been set up to support our growing Bulk Annuities Business.

As Assistant Manager within the team you'll have a role that matters. The primary focus of the role will be to perform the actuarial calculations required so that members of defined benefit schemes can exercise the options available to them. Including, but not limited to, early retirement, pension commencement lump sum, late retirements and transfer values. Within this role you'll get a great opportunity to input your ideas and help shape how this team, and its processes, operate and evolve over time.

In addition, as part of the Finance Bulk Annuities Proposition team, you'll get exposure to the wider teams that are involved in the lifecycle of a Bulk Annuity transaction and play a key role in 'on-boarding' new schemes.

You'll be making good progress towards qualifying as actuary and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and thrive in a fast moving, agile working environment. Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of the Defined Benefit pensions industry, particularly relating to member calculations and setting of the factors used in the administration of scheme benefits. Although experience in this area would be beneficial, for the right candidate they are not essentials as long as a track record for learning new skills and concepts can be evidenced.

Skills in VBA would be an advantage, but not essential.
