Project Manager, Open to flexible working

The Portfolio Management Office at the GSK Ware GMS (Global Manufacturing and Supply) Site is responsible for the planning and completion of specific site projects as defined by the Site Leadership Team. The Portfolio Management Office works to ensure that these projects are delivered to the required level of quality, in the appropriate timescales and within pre-determined budgets.

Job Purpose:

Working directly into the GMS Ware site's GPS and Strategy Deployment Director, you will take responsibility for all project management duties relating to identified projects at the site. This includes delivery oversight responsibility for all aspects project initiation, planning authorization, and implementation (including close-out) of the project lifecycle. Working closely with a wide-variety of stake-holders (including the senior leadership team), you will deliver project within stated time-frames, within the authorized budget, scope and quality. This includes preparing contingency and recovery plans for anticipated overruns and delays, to ensure that risks, issues and complex change processes are monitored and managed effectively.

Other responsibilities include the education / training of cross-functional team members in Project and Programme Management tools and techniques to ensure their understanding and support. You will also provide regular progress-reports to the business (specifically, presentations for leaders and staff to communicate project progress and impact effectively).

About You:

This role would suit a self-motivated individual who has experience of working in a cross-functional, global supply organisation. You will have strong project management experience in large scale projects, ideally with relevant qualifications (eg; PRINCE2 or similar certification). You will be resilient and calm under pressure, with strong people skills and a proven ability to influence people to achieve objectives and drive performance. You will have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have strong demonstrable organisational skills.

About Ware Manufacturing Site:

Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products. This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.

Basic qualifications:

  • Relevant Project Management experience / qualifications.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PRINCE2, APMP, MSP
  • Relevant qualifications in Scientific, Technical, or Engineering discipline.
  • Operational knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes associated with a dosage form.
  • Experience working in a cGMP aligned pharmaceutical environment.
