CICS System Programmer, Open to flexibility

The role sits within Enterprise Infrastructure which is responsible for delivering and maintaining core IT services for the Bank. Within the CICS team your role will be to apply your domain specific knowledge to ensure that all the CICS regions are operated, maintained, designed and delivered in accordance with service levels and agreed standards for the Bank. This is a senior role with the team and the incumbent is expected to be passionate about driving the platform forward.

Your accountabilities will include;

  • Supporting and implementing changes to the CICS estate within LBG as required.
  • Resolution of incidents and problems across the LBG estate in line with LBG KPI's.
  • Represent z/Transaction support team in WAR room/conference calls with incident management and technical teams in order to restore service.
  • Supporting testing cycles; providing feedback to test managers on results
  • Managing the Sign-off that solution/service is fit for Production environment as part of Gateway.
  • Working effectively with the wider z/Platform team to ensure the smooth transition of projects into live service.

What we'll need from you;

  • Extensive knowledge of CICS infrastructure, displaying the required skill set to assist Service Managers and colleagues with the expertise, leadership and consultancy to deliver the business requirements.
  • Proven and extensive experience of installing, maintaining and configuring CICS and associated ISV tools in all z/Platform environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of CICS and associated ISV Product usage across the LBG estate.
  • Experience of supporting and troubleshooting critical on-line systems.
  • Strong experience of CICS system performance tuning and diagnosis.
