Are you interested in working with Assembly Members from across the political spectrum to hold the Mayor to account and investigate issues of importance to Londoners?

The London Assembly is looking for a talented individual to join its highly-regarded scrutiny team, where you will be investigating some of the key challenges facing London and examining the Mayor’s policies to address them.

We are looking for someone with excellent research and analysis skills, the ability to create high quality written outputs, as well as experience working in a political environment or with politicians.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading, producing and delivering a wide-range of projects, research, briefings, reports and outputs for the London Assembly, its committees and its Members.

On a day to day basis, you will be liaising with politicians and their teams, gathering and analysing evidence from a range of sources, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and formulating credible recommendations for action.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside City Hall.

This job is ‘politically restricted’ under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

The Mayor has announced that City Hall will be relocating from More London (London Bridge) to the new City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Please note:  The new work address will be Greater London Authority, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE.  The address cited in the brochure is incorrect). This role will be based at the new building from January 2022.

London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.  In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
