Industrial (ICS/OT) Security is one of the fastest growing areas in Cyber. Organisations across the industrial, energy, mining, manufacturing, utilities, transport and medical sectors that use OT are going through significant change. They are driving operational performance improvements by harnessing the potential of interconnected enterprise IT systems, OT and IoT systems and third parties, creating integrated supply and value chains.
This new way of working is increasing the requirement for improved Cyber Security at an unprecedented rate - accelerated further by the recent increase in OT and IoT cyber incidents that have brought numbers of large industrial and manufacturing organisations to a standstill. We have first-hand knowledge of many of these incidents as we have supported numerous response, recovery and transformation programmes – as a result of which we now possess deep insight into what is required to keep these organisations operational and able to achieve meaningful management of their OT cyber related risks.
Our clients are some of the largest UK and global organisations some of which are critical to our society and every-day way of life. It is the purpose of the Industrial Cyber team in Deloitte to support our clients in helping them implement robust cyber defences and helping them to stay operational and recover from attack as they embrace digitalisation and transformation in an increasingly challenging environment. We are there for all of our clients OT Cyber needs: we assess, design, and implement and manage solutions to reduce the risk of high impact cyber-attacks. Our approach is fully aligned to the business so that we can make a meaningful change to the risk with the appropriate business context.
You will be joining a team of 400 plus cyber practitioners in the UK and nearly ten thousand globally. Your professional experience
Whilst a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is desirable, we are more interested in your real-world professional experience and your ability to turn this into impactful client outcomes. As an OT Cyber Security Consultant, you will have the following experience:
- Worked in one or more of the following industries - Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Utilities - including Renewables, Pharma, Transport and Logistics
- Worked in one or more of the following types of programmes/projects
- OT Security projects
- Smart Factory/Building
- OT Cyber Transformation
- OT Strategy & Road Map
- OT Asset management
- OT Assessment
- OT passive monitoring implementation
- It would be good if you had worked as a Subject Matter Expert on an OT security project and preferable if you had led such a project, or in fact been a programme team leader addressing multiple projects in a complex OT environment
- Possessing one or more of the following skills
- Control Systems Engineering
- Enterprise Architecture
- Enterprise Security
- OT Security
- Zero Trust
- Active Directory / Remote access
- OT monitoring
- OT asset management
Additionally, it would be highly desirable to have a working understanding of the following standards - IEC 62443, NIST CSF, NIST 800-82, NCSC CAF, and other security standards relevant to the engineering environment.
- Detail orientated and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including concisely communicating status and creating customer reports and presentations
- Project management – Experience with waterfall and agile type methodologies, often working within client specified frameworks
- Delivery team management: Managing teams between 5 - 15 people, across a mix of locations, cultures, and experience levels
- Client stakeholder management – Strong communication and relationship skills to manage a variety of client stakeholders from CISO to Operations engineering staff
