The People & Cultural Manager is a new post, to support Theatre Royal Stratford East by overseeing and delivering the company's HR functions, with an emphasis on supporting the recruitment and retention of a diverse and inclusive workforce.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our TRSE team, and work to ensuring TRSE is providing support to line managers and staff. We are looking for someone with an understanding of people management. We would be interested in meeting people who are seeking to develop their skills in this area, not necessarily someone who comes fully qualified.

Personal Specification

Qualifications and Experience

  • CIPD qualified, working towards a CIPD qualification or equivalent workplace experience
  • Generalist HR experience in a busy and complex organisation, preferably in the arts or charity or hospitality sectors
  • Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, including equality and diversity issues, and demonstrable experience of applying this knowledge in the workplace
  • Experience of line-management (desirable)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and confidently on own initiative
  • Ability to exercise integrity and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
  • IT-literate and highly proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
