Strategic Workforce Planning Lead

UKRI, Hybrid Working available

Full time or Part time considered 

£50,702 per annum/pro rata

In this role, you will identify and make recommendations to address both current and potential future workforce issues at UKRI and Council/Department level, through provision of expertise, data, models and advice to support leadership decision making.  You will create workforce plans that sustain the current and future delivery of UKRI services, adhering to national statutory requirements with correlation to the relevant strategic, service and financial plans.  You will also provide workforce research and analysis expertise to major change programmes and manage a range of strategic workforce planning projects.

Our HR function plays a pivotal role in achieving UKRI’s vision and this is an exciting time to join the team.  Following a comprehensive review and in full consultation with all key stakeholders, we are implementing a new HR Target Operating Model to transform the way we work, with a focus on strengthening our strategic business partnering capability, modernizing HR operational services and building up our expertise in areas such as careers and talent management, EDI, and leadership development.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • CIPD membership and/or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Experience of successfully developing and implementing strategic workforce planning in a complex organisational environment/diverse and specialist staff groups
  • Experience of using data and analytics to bring new insight, demonstrate impact and return on investment
  • Demonstrable experience of managing/prioritising multiple change and project management workstreams
