Bell Educational Services Ltd. seek a dynamic and enthusiastic Enrichment Programme Assistant to work on a part time basis (25 hours per week). 

Role and Context:

The Enrichment Programme Assistant (EPA) plays a key role in the school by delivering a programme which forms the core of the student experience outside the classroom. The “Language In Action programme” must cater for a wide range of ages, interests and cultural backgrounds, and provide suitable sessions for students on all types of courses. In order to align with Bell's strategic vision, it is vital that the Language In Action (LIA) programme embodies the relevant Bell Way principles, particularly Learning Everywhere. The EPA reports to the Enrichment Programme Coordinator (EPC) and will need to work closely with the rest of the Student Services Team, as well as with other teams at Bell.

Responsibilities:
  

  • Assist the EPC in planning a programme of appropriate activities (clubs, workshops, trips…) for all students studying at the school, including those on Intensive English, University Foundation Programme, closed groups and teacher-training courses

  • Lead activities during daytime, evening, and weekend activities when required by EPC

  • Develop materials and resources linked to school activities to maximise learning opportunities outside of the classroom

  • Help further implement Bell’s new online learning platform, “Bell Online”, and ensure its enrichment programme section is regularly updated and improved

  • Help forge links in the local community to create opportunities for Bell students to interact with local Cambridge students

  • Obtain up-to-date data on events in Cambridge and beyond and liaise with external parties such as activity providers, other schools and associations

  • Effectively publicise and promote events to students and staff, preparing hard copy and digital documents e.g. trip information and materials, keeping noticeboards and web pages up-to-date

  • Deal with enquiries from students, agents or staff for all aspects of the enrichment programme, including producing bespoke programmes for group quotes in a timely manner

  • Sell trips from external providers

  • Maintain sports and activity equipment, and Pavilion building as a student hub

  • Accompany students on excursions ensuring their welfare is looked after at all times

  • Liaise with rest of the Student Services Team and show ability to fit the team by developing positive professional relationships

  • Liaise with Marketing Team and other relevant departments to develop the team’s social media presence

  • Liaise regularly with the academic team to exchange ideas and develop materials that can be used outside of the classroom on activities

  • Liaise with other Bell Centres on matters relating to the programme and encouraging cross-centre links

  • Adhere to all statutory regulations and to Bell policies and procedures

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for / come into contact with

  • Protect at all times the confidentiality of information handled within the remit of the post

    KPIs:
      

  • You will be set specific objectives as part of Bell's performance management system. KPIs may vary, but are likely to include:

  • Student satisfaction scores on end of course surveys

  • Feedback from student focus groups

  • High levels of student sign –up / involvement in the enrichment programme

  • Evidence of engagement and learning taking place during observations of activities and sessions

  • Contribution to the improvement and development of services offered by Bell to its students.

    General:
     

  • To adhere to all statutory regulations and to Bell policies and procedures

  • Protect at all times the confidentiality of information handled within the remit of the post

  • To work irregular hours and travel as required

    To undertake any reasonable duties as required.
